Scott Test is a singer/songwriter and music educator out of Cortlandt Manor, NY. His most recent single, “Saint Rita,” earned first place in the Songwriters Showcase at the 2025 Rocky Mountains Folks Festival in Lyons, Colorado. He has been featured by the New York Songwriters Circle, and has written several TYA musicals with the Up In Arms puppet company. He is currently sitting on an embarrassingly large backlog of original music, which he plans to release at regular intervals throughout 2026.
Scott's band, Also In Blue, features himself (vocals/guitar/piano), Charlie Bennett (cello/bass) and Meg Test (vocals/piano). They have a growing following in Westchester County and the Hudson Valley, playing an eclectic mix of Americana/roots, singer/songwriter favorites, and original tunes. (Imagine James Taylor, Billy Joel, and Chris Thiele arguing about the merits of modern musical theater versus classic 70s folk while drinking WAY too much coffee. It's like that.)
Scott accompanied the 2025 Area All State Mixed Chorus. He is proud of his ten years of support for the New York State Theater Educator’s Association as an accompanist and clinician. Scott holds a BS in Music Education from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania and an MA in Studio Composition from SUNY Purchase.
